About Steve Clouse

Steve Clouse is a lifelong resident of Ozark, Alabama, and a dedicated public servant who has represented Dale and Houston Counties in the Alabama House of Representatives since 1994. First elected at the age of 38, he has built a reputation as one of the most experienced and respected legislators in the state. Over more than three decades of service, Clouse has played a key leadership role in shaping Alabama’s future, including serving as Chairman of the House Ways and Means General Fund Committee, where he oversaw the state’s General Fund budget for over a decade. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Transportation, Utilities, and Infrastructure Committee and is recognized as the Dean and steady leader of the Wiregrass legislative delegation.

Deeply rooted in his community, Clouse is known for his accessibility, integrity, and commitment to the people he serves. A proud product of Ozark, he worked alongside his father in the family business and has remained closely connected to the values of hard work and service that define the region. He and his wife, Diane, are active members of First Methodist Church and continue to call Main Street home. Throughout his career, Clouse has focused on delivering meaningful results for his constituents—supporting local infrastructure, healthcare access, public safety, and education—while maintaining a hands-on approach that reflects his belief that public service begins with being present and accountable to the people.
